Advising

In order to align with campus directives regarding the COVID-19 response and to ensure community health and safety, Community Studies advising has shifted online. Advising is available via email or Zoom. When you are emailing us please always use your UCSC email account, and provide your full name and student ID number.

For Drop-In Advising: CMMU Advising and CMMU Peer Advising are open for Drop-In. Use the Calendar below to access the Zoom Links.

Contact communitystudies@ucsc.edu for:

  • Anything related to community studies courses or major requirements
  • Signature on forms (will all be done digitally)
  • Major progress check questions (please review your academic advisement report first. MyUCSC -> My Academics)
  • Updates needed on your academic advisement report
  • Email: Please allow 2-4 days for a response, particularly around high volume times such as advising week and enrollment.

  • IGETC questions
  • Unit completion
  • Enrolling in more than 19 units
  • Academic standing
  • Commencement

 Advising Appointments with CMMU Program Advisor: Book 30-minute Zoom appointments with the CMMU Program Advisor on Slug Success. For help with Slug Success, please refer to these how-to guides. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance. If you are not currently proposed or declared in Community Studies, select the Academic Planning/Guidance, Choosing/Exploring Major/Minor, or Declaring/Adding/Changing Major/Minor as the appointment reason when scheduling your appointment.
