Eric Tandoc

Biography

Eric Tandoc is native of Westside Long Beach with his roots in the Philippines. As an undergraduate at UCLA, he took the Center for EthnoCommunications course with Professor Robert Nakamura and was exposed to creating documentary films with the purpose of serving and giving a voice to underrepresented communities.

For his thesis project, he will be documenting the growth of hip-hop as a form of expression in various communities of the Philippines. He aims to integrate his musical sensibilities as a DJ with the visual form of documentary film in order to reflect the vibrant and burgeoning hip-hop culture that is developing amongst Filipino youth.
